It appears that California State Assembly members have begun a trajectory to ban complimentary bottles of shampoo and conditioner offered at hotels and resorts across the state, arguing that they are terrible for the environment. This means that under the proposed legislation, lodging sites across the state, including vacation rentals, would be prohibited from providing guests with any small plastic bottle containing a personal care product. Doing so could impose penalties of up to $500 per violation.
What does this mean for Costa Californica? It means we will have began efforts to manufacture a hotel size shampoo bar and will continue to provide solutions when possible as well as maintain good stewardship of the planet.
